1. What is simulated teaching?
Ans: Simulated teaching is a design to replicate real situation as closely as desired, where students assume the roles of Teacher. As the simulation proceeds, students respond to change within the situation by studying the consequences of their decisions and subsequent actions.
2. State two ways in which the language laboratory can be used to develop listening skill.
Ans: Language laboratory can be used to develop listening skill following ways-
- The students may work through the lesson material at a pace suited to their ability. The lab for them is a personal tutor.
- It provides equal opportunity to all the students to hear the instructor irrespective of place. Where they ate seated and there is a direct transformation of information.
- Audio Aids: Radio, tape recorder.
- Audio-Visual Aids: Virtual Classroom, video recording, television.
- Using a Thesaurus will help a learner stop repeating words.
- Using Thesaurus improves vocabulary like synonyms and antonyms.
