B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) দ্বিতীয় সেমিস্টারের প্র্যাকটিকাম একজন শিক্ষকের পেশাগত প্রস্তুতির একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ হিসেবে বিবেচিত হয়। এটি শিক্ষার্থীদের শিক্ষকতার দক্ষতা ও কৌশল অর্জনে সহায়তা করে এবং বাস্তব অভিজ্ঞতা প্রদান করে। দ্বিতীয় সেমিস্টারের প্র্যাকটিকামের মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা ক্লাস পরিচালনা, শিক্ষাদান পদ্ধতি ও মূল্যায়নের কৌশল সম্পর্কে ধারণা লাভ করে। প্র্যাকটিকামের আওতায় বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রম অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকে।
শিক্ষকদের প্রশিক্ষণের মান উন্নত করার লক্ষ্যে 2009 সালে National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE) প্রণয়ন করা হয়। পরবর্তীতে, শিক্ষকদের প্রশিক্ষণের মান আরও বাড়াতে NCTE 2014 সালে নতুন নিয়মাবলী তৈরি করে, যার ভিত্তিতে B.Ed কোর্সের মেয়াদ দুই বছর নির্ধারণ করা হয়। এই প্রেক্ষাপটে, পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের উচ্চশিক্ষা দপ্তর একটি একক সিলেবাস (Uniform Syllabus) তৈরি করেছে। সিলেবাস অনুযায়ী, দ্বিতীয় সেমিস্টারে Course III, Course VIIA, Course 8A, Course IX এবং Course EPC-2 অন্তর্ভুক্ত রয়েছে।
